Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit

What is the Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit?

The Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit allows individual taxpayers to donate to QFCOs and receive a full credit on their state taxes. This means every dollar you donate can be deducted from the amount you owe in state taxes, up to certain limits. For the 2024 tax year, the maximum credit is $526 for single filers and $1,051 for joint filers.

The Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit provides a unique and impactful way for taxpayers to support foster children while receiving a dollar-for-dollar credit on their state taxes. By donating to a Qualified Foster Care Organization (QFCO) such as those supported by the Greater Phoenix Scooter Club, you can directly contribute to the well-being and future of foster children in Arizona at no cost to you.

The Importance of the QFCO Status

What is a QFCO?

While the Greater Phoenix Scooter Club (GPSC) is not yet a Qualified Foster Care Organization (QFCO) and the Arizona tax credit does not apply to our organization, we are deeply committed to supporting foster children in our community. Our partner organization, The Foster Alliance, is a QFCO, and your recurring donations to them can make a profound impact. Imagine the difference your support can make—providing foster children with essential resources, educational opportunities, and a sense of belonging. As GPSC works towards becoming a QFCO, we encourage you to direct your generosity to The Foster Alliance, where your contributions will help create brighter futures for these deserving children. Your kindness today can shape a better tomorrow for countless young lives.

GPSC is working everyday to attain our QFCO certification. We are eligible June 2025.

We Still Need Your Support!

Although the Greater Phoenix Scooter Club (GPSC) is not yet a Qualified Foster Care Organization (QFCO), we still rely on your generous donations to support our mission. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, donations to GPSC are tax-deductible, meaning you can deduct your contribution from your taxable income, potentially lowering your tax bill. However, the Arizona tax credit for donations to QFCOs, like our partner organization The Foster Alliance, works differently. Contributions to a QFCO offer a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona state taxes, directly reducing the amount you owe.

You can donate to both types of organizations in the same year and benefit from each. For GPSC, you can claim a deduction on your federal tax return, lowering your taxable income. For donations to a QFCO, you can receive a direct credit on your Arizona state taxes, up to the allowable limits ($526 for single filers and $1,051 for joint filers as of 2024). This dual support amplifies the impact of your generosity, benefiting foster children while providing you with significant tax advantages. Thank you for considering both types of contributions to maximize your support for those in need.
